Different Cats, Different Meals

Two cats can share a home without sharing the same menu or mealtime. One may finish breakfast promptly, while another returns later. A simple preparation routine helps you keep track of what belongs to each cat before the first bowl is filled.

Temora Vision brings those prepared meals together in one station. The useful starting point is a clear plan for each cat: food, portion, assigned compartment, and access time.

Write down each cat's meal

Keep a short note beside your meal-prep supplies with each cat's name, usual food, planned portion, and feeding time. If someone else helps at home, the same note gives them a practical handoff instead of a row of bowls to guess from.

Use the feeding plan you already follow. If a cat has a prescribed diet, follow your veterinarian's instructions for that food and portion. Temora Vision manages access to the meals you prepare; it does not select a diet for your cat.

Portion first, then assign

Prepare each serving before loading the feeder, keeping different foods easy to identify. Temora Vision has six separate meal compartments that can hold different foods and portions. Keep a simple compartment map in your note so another caregiver can follow the same plan.

Match each prepared meal to the intended compartment and registered cat in the app. Read the assignment back against your note before moving on to the next meal. This is especially useful when two servings look similar but belong to different cats.

Match access to your routine

For cat-specific meals, use face-recognition mode and assign the cat, compartment, and feeding schedule within that mode. Recognition presents the assigned meal during its scheduled feeding time. Self-service/sensing mode does not provide the same identity-based meal protection.

Plan for cats to take turns: Temora Vision serves one cat at a time. Watch the first feeding sessions after changing an assignment or schedule to confirm that the intended cat receives the intended meal. Check recognition carefully for cats with nearly identical faces, and keep a separate feeding arrangement if the feeder cannot reliably tell them apart.

Check before the next serving

Build a quick check into your preparation:

  • The right food and planned portion are ready for each cat.
  • The cat, compartment, and feeding time match in the app.
  • The feeder is powered and ready, with a clear approach.
  • Leftovers and food storage have been handled appropriately.

Follow the food maker's storage and serving directions. The FDA recommends promptly refrigerating or discarding unused or leftover canned and pouched pet food. Preparing a later meal does not mean every food can stay out until then.

Keep checking meals in person as part of daily care. Explore Temora Vision for a closer look at shared meal access, or keep our feeding-station cleaning routine handy for the reset between servings.
