For the cats you share your home withTemora Vision multi-cat feeder FAQ.
Different cats. Different needs.
Can Temora Vision keep prescription food separate in a multi-cat home?
Yes. Paw Ballet Temora Vision has six separate meal compartments for different foods and portions. Assign prescription food to the appropriate cat, and facial recognition presents that cat's assigned meal. Side guards and face recognition provide two layers of food theft protection, reducing the daily work of feeding cats in separate rooms and guarding their bowls. Check each cat's first feeding sessions to confirm the intended meal is presented.
Can kittens, senior cats, and mother cats have their own meals?
Yes, for cats over two months old. Temora Vision lets you prepare and assign different foods and portions for kittens, adult cats, senior cats, pregnant cats, and nursing cats. The six compartments keep their prepared meals separate within one feeding station. This is a way to manage different feeding needs, not a claim that one food or portion suits every cat.
Can Temora Vision help manage portions for a cat on a weight-management plan?
Yes. Prepare the planned portion in an assigned compartment. Facial recognition controls access to that cat's meal, while food theft protection addresses attempts to take a housemate's food. Temora Vision manages access to the meals you prepare; it does not choose a weight-loss plan or guarantee weight loss.
How does Temora Vision stop one cat stealing another cat's food?
Temora Vision combines side guards with facial recognition for two layers of food theft protection. In face-recognition mode, meals are assigned to specific cats. When the camera identifies a different cat taking over, the feeder immediately rotates the original meal away. Register each cat, assign their meals, and observe the first feeding sessions to check recognition and access.
Can my cats use Temora Vision without wearing collars or tags?
Yes. Temora Vision uses facial recognition with 97% accuracy, without a collar, wearable tag, or implanted microchip. Each registered cat receives their assigned meal according to your feeding settings and meal availability. Nearly identical faces, including twins, can be harder to distinguish.
What if my cats look almost identical?
Cats with nearly identical faces, including twins, can be more difficult for Temora Vision to distinguish. Register clear, front-facing profiles and observe their first feeding sessions to confirm that each cat receives the intended meal. Keep a separate feeding arrangement if recognition does not reliably distinguish your cats.
One feeder. Their own meals.
Can one Temora Vision serve several cats with different diets?
Yes. One Temora Vision recognizes up to 10 registered cats and serves one cat at a time. Its six separate meal compartments hold the foods and portions you prepare. Cat profiles, meal compartments, and included stainless steel bowls are different counts. One shared station means fewer feeders to buy, refill, clean, and find space for.
Can I put different types of food in the same feeder?
Yes. The six separate compartments hold dry food, wet food, and special diets in the same feeder. Assign the meals to the appropriate cats, and Temora Vision presents each cat’s assigned food under your chosen feeding settings.
Can scheduled meal times work with face recognition?
Yes. In face-recognition mode, assign your cat to a meal compartment and set its feeding schedule within that mode. During the scheduled feeding time, recognition presents their assigned meal. Other modes include scheduled, self-service/sensing, and manual remote feeding. Self-service/sensing does not provide identity-based meal protection.
What can I manage from the app when I’m away?
Set up cat profiles, assign meal compartments and schedules, review feeding records, and start a meal remotely. Live video, two-way audio, and photo capture let you check in through the app. Remote features require an internet connection.
Can I manage two Temora Vision feeders in the same app?
Yes. You can manage two Temora Vision feeders in the same app.
Does the camera record continuously, and can I turn it off for privacy?
Temora Vision saves movement-triggered video clips to built-in storage rather than recording continuously all day. When storage is full, older recordings are overwritten. You can set a camera sleep period in the app to turn the camera off for privacy.
What happens if my Wi-Fi goes down?
After setup, core face recognition and meal access run on the feeder itself and continue during an internet interruption while the feeder is powered. Remote app access, live video, alerts, and syncing need connectivity. Follow the current setup instructions for network compatibility.
Everyday care and getting started.
Why does Temora Vision detect an empty bowl when there is still food inside?
Low light can make it harder for the camera to detect food remaining in the bowl. If this happens, try moving the feeder to a well-lit location, turning on the room lights, or turning on the feeder light through the lighting settings in the app. If the bowl is still detected as empty after improving the lighting, contact Paw Ballet support for help.
How does Temora Vision keep wet meals cooler?
Ice packs are included with the 5 Bowls + 2 Ice Packs set and are also sold separately. They are not included with the Standard Set or the 5 Bowls + No Ice Packs set. Lay the ice packs completely flat in the freezer until fully frozen. Freezing them at an angle can cause the liquid to collect unevenly and the packs to bulge. Place the frozen packs beneath the tray before use. Cooling comes from the ice packs, not electric refrigeration. Follow your food’s storage and serving guidance when planning meals.
Do I need a subscription for face recognition?
No. Core facial recognition is included without a monthly subscription.
Is it easy to clean when several cats use it?
For a set with removable stainless steel bowls, remove and wash the bowls after use; the stainless steel bowls are dishwasher-safe. Rinse thoroughly and let them dry completely before putting them back. Wipe the electronic controller with a soft, damp cloth and do not immerse it. Stainless steel bowls are not included with the Standard Set.
What is included in the Standard Set?
The Standard Set includes one Temora Vision feeder with its original six-compartment meal tray, a power adapter, and an instruction manual. Stainless steel bowls and ice packs are not included. Food can be placed directly in the meal tray. Choose a 5-bowl set if you want removable stainless steel bowls.
My cat is cautious around new things. How should I introduce the feeder?
Place Temora Vision in a quiet, accessible, well-lit feeding spot. In dim conditions, turn on the room lights or the feeder light through the app to help the camera detect remaining food. Start with familiar food and stay nearby for the first few meals. Let each cat explore at their own pace, then check their profile and meal assignment. Cats take turns at the feeder.
Choosing your feeding setup.
How is Temora Vision different from a collar-tag or microchip feeder?
Temora Vision identifies registered cats by their faces and presents assigned meals from six separate compartments. Collar-tag feeders identify a tag worn by the cat; some selective feeders can read a compatible implanted microchip instead. Check the specific model rather than assuming every selective feeder needs a collar. Compare how meals are assigned, how access is protected, and whether your cats are comfortable taking turns.
When should I keep separate feeding stations?
Keep separate feeding locations if one cat guards the approach, another is reluctant to eat nearby, or similar-looking cats are not reliably distinguished. Temora Vision serves one cat at a time. Introduce it gradually, check meal assignments, and keep a familiar feeding option available while you observe your cats.
Their own meals. Nothing extra to wear.
